RADFORD, Va. (WDBJ7) -- Radford University will host a ceremony honoring one of their fellow Highlanders, Alexa Cannon, who many remember as a volleyball player, who loved photography.

Cannon was a 2016 graduate of Patrick Henry High School and was popular among her classmates.

Radford will honor Cannon with a ceremony on January 30 at 9:15 p.m. at the university's Student Recreation & Wellness Center, MAC Court, according to Radford's Twitter account.

"It is with heavy hearts that we gather to celebrate Alexa’s life and the happiness she shared with others every day," a university official tweeted. "Radford U students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend. In recognition of Alexa’s love of fashion, attendees are encouraged to wear blue and to bring any photos they have with Alexa to share their memories with the Radford Family."

Cannon was allegedly killed by fellow student Luisa Cutting following an incident on January 24.
