Roanoke man creates successful blacksmith business

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) Heart & Spade Forge owner Jed Curtis is a modern day blacksmith.

"It's such a different way of constructing something. It's not like carpentry, welding, or anything. You have a fixed volume and you manipulate that volume and push it where you want it to go," said Curtis.

Curtis tells us pieces take about 6 hours to create and he currently has about a month and half backlog. But he's working hard to get as much done before the holiday rush.

If you'd like to see some of Curtis' pieces, you check out the Heartand Spade Forgewebsite.
