ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ7) Work is about to begin on a new Cave Spring High School.

Crews are busy setting up modular buildings that will house more than 40 classrooms. At Tuesday afternoon's school board work session, board members received an update on progress. 14 of those 21 mobile buildings are on site right now. Their goal is to have all of them set in place next week, weather permitting.

Mike Wray, Roanoke County School Board Member, said, "It's been a long process that it seems we hit a bump in the road then we'd have to go a little ways and straighten out. I'm jsut happy that we can get started on the project."

The division hopes to hold an 'open house' so parents and students can take a look at the temporary classrooms sometime before holiday break.
