UPDATE: Arrest made; victims identified in Roanoke County triple homicide


The Roanoke County Police Department has identified the victims as well as made an arrest in a triple homicide that occurred Tuesday morning.

Police say the victims in this homicide have been identified as Miranda B. Trump, 18, of Roanoke; Brandon D. Dekle, 20, of Bent Mountain; and Cole P. Kennedy, 21, of Bent Mountain.

Police say they have arrested Trevor E. Charles, 18, of Roanoke. Officers say Charles was charged with three (3) counts of first-degree murder and three (3) counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

According to Roanoke County Police, an investigation started yesterday after a father could not get a hold of his daughter and found her crashed car down an embankment along Honeysuckle Road.

Police say this eventually led them to the home on Bent Mountain Road for a well-being check.

Police are working to identify the two males.

Police are continuing to say there is no threat to the public and that they do not believe this was a random act.

Roanoke County Police and Virginia State Police are investigating a triple homicide.

It happened around 1 a.m. Tuesday at a house in the 9200 block of Bent Mountain Road.

Two men and a woman were found dead. They all appeared to have died of apparent gunshot wounds.

No one is in custody at this time.

There is no known threat to the public.

Police say they are, "aggressively pursuing leads."
