It's a joint effort between the County and the cities of Roanoke and Salem to attract high-paying jobs to the 106 acres of land in the northern part of the county. We've told you previously about some neighbors starting a petition against it.

The county said it will work with them to make sure whoever moves in is the best fit.

"There will be any number of opportunities for the neighborhoods and the community to engage and help shape what is developed there ultimately," Roanoke County Administrator Thomas Gates said. "We recognize that this site literally abuts residential neighborhoods and we want the involvement of the community."

The county will vote whether or not to approve its share of funding for the project next month
