Roanoke County's new administrator brings 18 years of experience

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) - Roanoke County's new administrator isn't new to the county at all!

Daniel O'Donnell is the new Roanoke County administrator. It's a role he briefly held once before as interim administrator.

But this time O'Donnell said being in the position is different and he's excited for the role. He brings with him 18 years of experience within the county. And, he said, there's a reason he's stuck around for so long.

"Well my plan was 18 years ago was that I would stay for about five years and go to my next community and I never left," he said with a smile. "So yeah I really love this place, it's a great place."

His goals as administrator include encouraging more millennial to choose Roanoke County as their next home.
