Chief David Hoback says a rail car full of trash caught fire and smoked up the tipping floor. The car was moved outside and flooded after producing a great deal of smoke.

The cause has not been determined and trash will still be sifted around and wetted down again to eliminate hot spots.

No injuries have been reported and the fire led to slight delays for the public to get into the landfill.
