ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) A Roanoke woman is back home after winning two bronze medals in the Pan-American Games in Peru.

Kelani Lawerence is ranked as the best female racquetball player in the country.

While in Peru, she took home the bronze medal in women's doubles and the women's team competition.

She said the whole thing was surreal.

"Really exciting to share that with my teammates," Lawrence said. "Every single one of us, there are 3 men and 2 women that went, and all of us came back with medals. It was pretty exciting for Team USA."

Lawrence also finished in the top 12 in the women's single competition.

She said she is looking forward to the upcoming professional season. She is also eyeing the world championships coming up in Summer 2020.
