Rocky Mount feeling the love with new art
Another hometown is feeling the love.
Rocky Mount added a new piece of art by the town’s Farmers' Market as part of the Virginia is for Lovers campaign.
The letters each represent the community and highlight the town’s heritage.
“It shows some of our local color, some of our creativity, some of the things we are known for. We just want people when they are visiting Rocky Mount to get a small slice of that so they’re interested in staying for the whole day and enjoying what Rocky Mount has to offer,” Assistant Town Manager Matt Hankins said.
The ‘L’ highlights the area’s moonshine heritage with a still. The tractor wheel is a nod to the farming culture. The ‘V’ highlights the Harvester Performance Center and the ‘E’ represents the town’s railroad history.
