Rocky Mount man arrested, faces drug charges

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ7) -- A Rocky Mount man has been arrested and faces drug-related charges after a warrant was served.

According to a news release by the Franklin County Sheriff's office, members of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit conducted a drug related search warrant in the 2000 block of Timber Ridge Rd. in the Glade Hill community of Franklin County on Tuesday.

They located Lacy Harold Smith Jr., 45, of Rocky Mount, who was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and provided false information to deputies about his identification, the release stated.

Smith was arrested and is currently being held in the Franklin County jail without bond.

The case is currently under investigation and additional charges may be pending, the release stated.
