ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - The Salem Civic Center shined Saturday for the 40th annual Mineral and Gem Society Show.
The show was for educational and shopping purposes. Some of the items sold are jewelry, polished rocks and beads. It's a great way for folks to add to their rock collection or learn more about how to turn a rock into jewelry.
"It's Thanksgiving, so you have a lot of family in town, so this is a perfect opportunity for every age group to get out of the house, enjoy themselves a little bit, see the hard work that we as a club do to promote the valley," David LeMarrie, a former showrunner and member of the Mineral and Gem Society, said.
Ticket Prices are $5 and free for those under 14. You can still stop by Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
