ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - 2019 Angel Tree registration is now open at the Salvation Army in Roanoke! They are registering low-income families who need help bringing their kids gifts over the holidays.
After signing-up, Angel-tags with kids' names on them will be on Christmas trees at local malls. People can then buy gifts for these kids.
To sign-up, you must meet the financial criteria and take a self-development class to stay with the program.
"We do this because we know that the children can't help the situations that maybe their families are in, and this is our way to be able to serve those kids, and the parents, take a little stress off of them for the Christmas season," Captain Jamie Clay with the Salvation Army said.
You can register from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 6 pm. October 14th to 18th at the Salvation Army's Dale Avenue location in Roanoke.
