Scattered storms cause damage in Bedford County

BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ7) - Scattered storms packed a punch Saturday afternoon leaving behind some damage across areas of the region.

Parts of Bedford County appear to be hit the hardest with many reports of damage from the National Weather Service.

A construction site in Forest was damaged during the severe weather, a railroad crossing sign appears to have snapped, and a large tree broke into two.

Winds reached speeds of 60 mph and higher, according to the National Weather Service.

In Thaxton, strong gusts caused a tree to fall on top of a home. No one was injured during that incident.
