UPDATE: Chatham man charged in crash involving school bus carrying 15 students

PITTSYLVANIA Co., Va. (WDBJ7) -- UPDATE:

State Police have charged a man with reckless driving in connection to a crash involving a school bus in Pittsylvania County.

It happened around 3:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon on Banister Road.

Officials said Corey Reynolds from Chatham lost control of his car, crossed the center line and hit the bus head-on.

15 students between the ages of 5 and 11 were on board. No one was hurt.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Virginia State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash in which a school bus was struck head-on by another vehicle.

According to a news release from VSP, the crash occurred around 3:12 p.m. on Banister Road in Pittsylvania County.

The bus was loaded with 15 students.

There is no information on the driver or the other vehicle involved at this time, the release stated.
