Science Festival returns to Lexington for third year

LEXINGTON, Va. (WDBJ7) Downtown Lexington will become a science center on Sunday.

There will be robots, electricity, astronomy, brain science and more at the third annual Science Festival. Also this year, there will be a Makers’ Faire, where kids can play with and build things out of Strawbees, a construction toy from Sweden.

“I mean the whole families are fascinated," Executive Director of Main Street Lexington Stephanie Wilkinson said. "You know, you see the parents getting into it as much as the kids, that’s the great part. And you have little, little kids but you also have kids up to middle school as well as high school, because the kind of exhibits we have are just so engaging.”

It goes on from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday in three locations in central Lexington.
