Second Women's March on Roanoke set for Saturday

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) The first Women's March on Roanoke brought out a large crowd last January, and thousands are expected Saturday when the event returns to Elmwood Park.

This year's theme is "Hear our Vote."

"The goal beyond tomorrow is engagement in the community, said Jessie Coffman, one of the organizers. "We want to register voters. We want to see people going to the polls in 2018 and beyond. We want more volunteers in the local non-profit partners. We just want engagement."

The Women's March on Roanoke is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

The event will include speeches and entertainment in Elmwood Park, and a march through downtown.
