SHAWSVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) -- A 29-year-old man ran from a traffic stop on I-81 Tuesday, setting off a two-day search. Police found him Wednesday afternoon in a Christiansburg neighborhood.

Shawsville resident Chris Patrick was just going through his normal routine Wednesday when he came across a surprise on his trail camera.

"I said I'll come down here and check my camera first and then I started down through here and I said, 'You know, there could very possibly be the man on the camera there if he's running'" Patrick said.

Sure enough, after scrolling through the images, he found what he was looking for.

"It was 236 pictures, and at 230 pictures, he was on it," Patrick said. "And my stomach just folded and I was like, 'Heck yeah!'"

What gave it away was the man's bare feet, matching the description of the suspect given by police.

The man, who police have identified as 29-year-old Jesus Alberto Hernandez-Lobe, was later spotted in someone else's yard before officers arrested him around 3 in the afternoon.

By the time Patrick found the photo, the chase had already ended.

"I'd have never in a million years thought that that would get that on this camera here," he said.

Patrick said he's just grateful for the work of law enforcement that kept his family safe.

"These woods now are filled up with snakes and bees and everything else, and they're out there doing their jobs protecting us, and we need to give thanks to them just like veterans," he said.

Hernandez-Lobe was served warrants for kidnapping and assault and battery out of Harrisonburg. He is being held at the Montgomery County Jail.
