The wagering facility features off-track betting, and 150 historical horse racing machines that look and sound like traditional slot machines.

So far, the town has received about $300,000 in revenue.

Brad Grose is Vinton's Mayor.

"We try to take a conservative approach to our budget," Grose told WDBJ7. "That figure is almost twice what we expected actually, so it's been a pleasant surprise."

Grose said he believes the company has also been a good corporate citizen, working with the town and its neighbors.
