Virginia State Police is investigating a plane crash on the runway in Henry County.

It happened around 4:10 p.m. Monday evening.

Authorities said a Cessna 170 single engine aircraft was landing when it started pulling to the left.

The pilot braked but the aircraft’s landing gear failed, causing it to block the runway.

The pilot was not hurt.

The runway was closed until the plane could be removed.

The FAA was notified and is investigating the crash as well.

Right now we are not sure of the plane's origin or destination.

It does not appear anyone else was on the plane.
