DANVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) This week, students in Danville will be helping parks and recreation create a place for Monarch butterflies.

The process of building a butterfly garden is underway outside the Visitor's Center.

The Monarch Waystation will be a place for butterflies to feed and rest while migrating across the U.S.

"Conserving our environment and this is just a very small thing that makes a very big impact to the environment so we are certainly more than happy to be a part of that effort," Danville Parks and Recreation, Russell Carter said.

Experts with Master Gardens will be out Tuesday with the students teaching them all about proper planting and building a garden.
