'Super' day for kids at Carilion Children's
Kids in Carilion Children’s have been getting a lot of special visitors lately. They had mascots stop in to say "hi" earlier this week.
Thursday, they had some other pretty super guests. Superman, Batman, Spiderman, and Thor to be more specific.
“We had so much fun and I am so glad Carilion does this!” said Pamela Bryant, mother of three-year-old Sarah.
And these guys were pulling double duty, visiting the children in the hospital, and hard at work, washing windows.
“Window washer guys are here, let’s have us some action heroes swing across the front of the building, kind of spruce up the attitudes of the children, kind of give them some inspiration for the day,” said Ricky Williams, Operations Manager, Carilion.
For the brave kids, like Sarah, who’s been in and out of the hospital her entire life, it adds a little bit of fun and excitement into the day.
“We’ve been in and out of the hospital for three years so it’s always fun to have these experiences. It’s something different, because sitting in room in a bed with medicine and all the doctors running around, it’s always fun to do something different,” Bryant said.
So there was no clash between Superman and Batman, just lots of smiles.
