HALIFAX COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ7)-- The superintendent and principal overseeing Halifax County High School have released a joint statement regarding the South Boston shooting Saturday on Old Halifax Road.
According to the Halifax County High School Facebook page, officials do not believe there is any link between Halifax County High School and the shooting, and nobody involved was a current student.
According to the statement, people should expect delays entering the building in the next few days, as all metal detectors will be in use. This measure is being taken to make people feel safer. There will also be an extra presence of law enforcement officials on-site, along with counselors available for students and staff.
