Same people believed responsible for robberies of Sunrise Food Market

LYNCHBURG, VA (WDBJ7)-- UPDATE: Lynchburg police are investigating two armed robberies at the Sunrise Food Market they believe could involve the same people.

The first incident occurred the night of August 4, 2019 after a man covering his face showed a worker his weapon and left with an undisclosed amount of money.

The second incident from August 10 is included in the story below.

The market is at 1201 Campbell Avenue.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The Lynchburg Police Department is investigating an armed robbery at the Sunrise Food Mart.

Police say they responded to 1201 Campbell Ave. around 10:30 p.m. Saturday for a report of an armed robbery.

They say a man had his face hidden with a piece of clothing, and showed a knife. That man stole an undisclosed amount of cash.
Another man stood outside the front door while this was happening, police say.

They’re described as black men in their late teens to early twenties.
Police say they ran from the scene.
