TRAFFIC ALERT: Vehicle fire closes southbound lanes on I-81 in Botetourt County

A vehicle fire is causing delays on Interstate 81 in Botetourt County Friday morning.
According to the Virginia Department of Transportation, there is a vehicle fire on Interstate 81 at mile marker 172.5 in Botetourt County.
VDOT is reporting that all southbound lanes are closed.
As of 6:10 a.m., VDOT says that traffic is backed up for three miles.
