Teenager remains in hospital as Roanoke police investigate weekend shooting

Police continue to investigate a shooting in Northwest Roanoke that left a 16-year-old in the hospital.

It happened around 4 a.m. Saturday morning outside Ms. Choc's in the 2300 block of Melrose Avenue. The teen told police she was inside the lounge but was not involved in any sort of fight.

Police have not said why someone decided to pull out a gun. The teenager remains in the hospital.

A shooting in Roanoke sends a teenage girl to the hospital.

It happened just before 4 a-m Saturday morning along the 23-hundred block of Melrose Avenue.

Officers were responding to a call when they found a 16-year-old girl with gunshot wounds to the hand and hip.

She was taken to the hospital for treatment.

So far no arrests have been made and the incident is still under investigation.
