DANVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) - Want to play a piece of music in the middle of downtown? In a few days, that will be a reality in Danville.
Several other hometowns have also adopted the piano project. Councilman James Buckner got the idea to bring it to Danville when he saw pianos in places like Lynchburg and Colorado.
"Music can just touch many people in many ways, so much more than words can do so I think it will be a beautiful thing for our area," said Buckner.
Buckner purchased five pianos from an auction and is currently working with different organizations, like a group from Averett University, to paint them.
Buckner said he hopes to put the first piano out by this weekend for the Christmas Tree lighting.
