PULASKI, Va. (WDBJ7)-- In an effort to help people better cope with the restrictions brought on by COVID-19, the Town of Pulaski has announced it will reopen trails for limited access beginning May 1 at 8 a.m.
Walking and biking trails will be open; however, playgrounds, basketball courts and tennis courts will remain closed. The baseball/softball field at Cool Springs and the picnic shelter at Heritage Park will also be closed.
The section of the Dora Trail from the Pulaski Train Depot to Cool Springs will be open, but the rest of the trail remains closed due to flooding.
Pulaski County and the Town of Pulaski ask that everyone maintain social distancing procedures when using trails. They also encourage people to wear face masks. Any activities that draw large groups remain prohibited.
Pulaski had closed numerous recreational sites because of coronavirus concerns.
The Dora Trail and all parks and playgrounds were closed until further notice.
The Town of Pulaski asks anyone who feels ill with typical symptoms of the coronavirus to not go to the emergency room, but rather call your health provider or local health department.
