HILLSVILLE, Va. (WDBBJ) Today was day one of the Hillsville Labor Day Flea Market.
Before the rain came this afternoon, it was heat and sunshine for vendors and shoppers. Hundreds of people set up food and clothing booths.
There were also several stands with antiques. One vendor said he likes these events because it brings people together.
"Any time you can be together like that it makes it worth it," Junior Parsons said. "And most people are like family, you know. You get up here and get talking to them and you meet a lot of people that are real good friends, like family."
The flea market is all weekend long and ends on Monday. Over 500-thousand people are expected to attend.
