Two injured in tractor trailer accident on I-77 in Wythe County

The tractor trailer accident has been cleared on Interstate 77, according to Virginia Department of Transportation.


A tractor trailer driver and a passenger were taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries due to a crash on Interstate 77 in Wythe County, according to Virginia State Trooper Hutchinson.

Hutchinson says the passenger was pinned down and had to be extricated by first responders.

According to Hutchinson, there were no other vehicles involved in the crash.

Crews are still working to remove the tractor trailer and will take an "extended period of time."

The south right lane is closed.
