BEDFORD, Va. (WDBJ7) A training exercise scheduled to be held Thursday night in Bedford may produce "loud bangs," according to a statement released by the Bedford County Sheriff's Office.
Virginia State Police will hold a "First Responder Explosives Recognition and Response" training exercise Thursday night from 6:30 until 8:30 at the Bedford County Fire & Rescue Headquarters on Turning Point Road. This event is specifically for law enforcement and rescue personnel who respond to emergencies, not the general public.
Due to live demonstrations of explosives that will take place during the training exercise, people living in the areas of Falling Creek Road and Smith Street may hear loud noises. People living within one mile of the training exercise will be alerted by phone call, email, and SMS alert through the "AlertBedford" program.
