Traveling circus offers sensory-friendly experience for Lynchburg audience

A traveling circus that's performing in our area this week offered a special show Friday afternoon for audiences who are sensitive to bright lights and loud noises.

The Venardos Circus is producing shows at River Ridge Mall in Lynchburg. On Friday they hosted a "sensory friendly" performance for people with PTSD, and those on the autism spectrum who have sensitivities to light and sound.

"We're big on inclusion here," said Venardos Circus juggler, Richie Zsilak. "We want to include everyone and make sure they all have the ability to come out, experience the circus, and have a great time."

The Venardos Circus will host traditional shows in Lynchburg Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday. They offer a modern take on the circus experience with broadway-style acts.
