PITTSYLVANIA CO., Va. (WDBJ7) -- Two people are dead following a house fire in Pittsylvania County on Tuesday morning.

Crews were called to 6897 Rockford School Road around 10:30 Tuesday morning, according to Pittsylvania County Emergency Management Director Chris Slemp.

Florine and Junior Witcher lived in the home, according to family members who tell WDBJ7 the couple was killed.

An active power line at the scene of the fire complicated efforts to put out the flames, Slemp said.

The two people who died have been transported to a medical examiner's office in Roanoke.
