BLACKSBURG, Va. (WDBJ7)— Two new restaurants are set to replace existing ones along Main Street in Downtown Blacksburg.

Over the summer, Big Al’s and Poor Billy’s permanently closed. A sign posted on the door reads they are under new management. We've learned that Steel Rose Enterprise, LLC bought the building in July.

The owners at El Rodeo plan to open a new, authentic street taco restaurant that also serves drinks in Big Al’s location.

“When the students are here it’s a popular place to walk downtown, that’s why we decided to cater to the downtown crowd," said co-owner Julio Arellano.

The restaurant will be called Centro Taco Bar. Arellano said in addition to the tacos, they will likely sell burritos and quesadillas with a salsa bar.

A Korean barbecue restaurant is set to replace Poor Billy's. It will be called MixMix Korea.

Both locations are set to open after the new year.

It is unclear why the old businesses closed or if they will still re-open elsewhere in town.
