PITTSYLVANIA Co., Va. (WDBJ7) -- UPDATE 2:
We're told that, when found, Andrew Yarboro, 9, was in his underwear and covered in brush near a creek. His mother, Jessica Fox, said he undressed down to his underwear after getting wet.
Fox said she believed Andrew, who is autistic, was scared by the searchlights. When he was found, she said, Andrew asked for pizza.
"He's going to get all the pizza he wants," she added.
The Pittsylvania Sheriff's Office confirmed that Andrew Yarboro, 9, was found 1.4 miles away from his home in a heavily wooded area in the 6000 block of Strawberry Road in Chatham.
Emergency personnel are currently treating the boy as a precaution.
The sheriff's office thanked the local and state agencies with locating the boy.
Family members of the missing boy have confirmed that the missing 9-year-old boy has been found safe.
According to a release, the sheriff’s office received a call around 5:30 Tuesday afternoon reporting that Andrew Yarboro, 9, had wandered away from his home on the 1200 block of County Road in Chatham and could not be found.
