VSP responds to over 300 crashes, 196 disabled cars during winter storm

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Troopers from the Virginia State Police have responded to 324 crashes and 196 disabled vehicles in the Commonwealth during the winter storm.

In addition to these totals, VSP reports that troopers are investigating 44 crashes and helping 11 disabled vehicles.

Police also report one person died from a storm-related crash in Pulaski County on Interstate 81.

As temperatures drop overnight, VSP reminds drivers to slow down for road conditions and add extra travel time to their destination.
