A veteran is hiking his way through out region. He has covered more than 700 miles so far, all for a good cause.
Paul Gaumond is hiking the Appalachian trail to raise money for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. This helps children of fallen soldiers from Special Operations, have funding for college.
Gaumond is a special operations veteran himself and hopes to inspire others on his current mission.
"I just think on the trail when I'm out there on a hike for eight to twelve hours out there everyday. I think of the people that didn't come home. I think about my kids, my wife, my family. What if that was me. I really hope this makes a difference in peoples' lives," Gaumond said.
