Roanoke man arrested after early morning multi-county pursuit

VINTON, Va. (WDBJ7) -- Update:
Vinton Police identified the driver of the early morning multi-country pursuit as Jordan Scott Overstreet, 35, of Roanoke.

According to authorities, Overstreet was wanted out of Franklin County for a probation violation and was charged with a felony for eluding the police.

Overstreet is being held without bond.

A high-speed chase that started in Vinton following a traffic-stop ended in Franklin County early Friday morning, officials confirm.

Vinton officials confirmed an officer attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle for reckless driving in which the vehicle failed to stop initiating a pursuit.

A 20-minute chase lead through both the town of Vinton, Bedford County before finally coming to an end after the driver ran over a spike strip along Booker T. Washington Highway in Franklin County.

The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody with no injuries.

Police have not released the name of the driver at this time but did say the man had an outstanding warrant and other charges that are pending at this time.
