Virginia Museum of Transportation to have Military Appreciation Day

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - You can honor veterans Saturday, November 9th, at the Virginia Museum of Transportation's Military Appreciation Day. From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., the museum will have free admission for veterans. There will be a food truck and Mill Mountain Zoo animals. You can also enjoy children's train rides, a scavenger hunt, and other activities.

"We all want to celebrate our heroes, and part of transportation, our military vehicles in particular," Mendy Flynn, Director of Special Events for the Virginia Museum of Transportation, said.

There will also be a dedication ceremony for the Volvo "Ride for Freedom" truck at 2 p.m. in front of the museum.
