Virginia ranked in top 10 states to live in, survey says

(WDBJ7) -- The Old Dominion state is topping the charts in a survey that measured which states were the best to live in.

The survey, conducted by the U.S. News & World Report, measured the states health care, education, economy, infrastructure, opportunity, fiscal stability, crime and corrections and natural environment.

The state of Washington tops the charts at number 1.

But what does that say about Virginia?

Well, the 'Old Dominion state,' Virginia does not fall too far behind, coming in at number 7!

Virginia's strongest ranking being in education and lowest being in Infrastructure, according to the report.

The top 10 states:
1. Washington
2. New Hampshire
3. Minnesota
4. Utah
5. Vermont
6. Maryland
7. Virginia
8. Massachusetts
9. Nebraska
10. Colorado

The worst 10 states:
1. Louisiana
2. Alabama
3. Mississippi
4. West Virginia
5. New Mexico
6. Arkansas
7. Alaska
8. Oklahoma
9. South Carolina
10. Pennsylvania
