Southwest Virginia is known for its outdoor adventures. Virginia's Blue Ridge has recently been named a silver-level ride center by the International Mountain Bicycling Association.

The titled has elevated the region as America's East Coast Mountain Biking Capital. Visit Virginia's Blue Ridge has capitalized on the title encouraging travelers to connect with outdoors and the be a trail setter.

The group released this new attention-grabbing video - showcasing the outdoors, art and culture, and craft breweries. "The video really captured what the region is all about and what it's like to live here," said Mike Dame, VP of Marketing and Communications at Carilion Clinic.

The goal of the video isn't just to get people to come one time but to get them to visit and stay. Carilion Clinic is a big employer for southwest Virginia, hiring hundreds of medical professions a year. Staff believes this will help their recruitment efforts. "At Carilion Clinic we talk all the time what a great place this is to live," said Dame, "work and play and this new campaign will capture a lot of that and really inspire us to share our story and be ambassadors for the region."

"Professionals are looking for a place where they can live that has a great work life balance and the opportunity to live in a place that has that natural outdoor environment like cycling is a really strong community builder," said Stephen AMrbsuz, owner of Downshift.

Visit Virginia's Blue Ridge includes Botetourt, Franklin, Roanoke, and Salem. The new campaign cost one million dollars and is funded by area bed taxes.
