Whitebarrel Winery celebrates Virginia Vineyard Month with gold medal

Founded in 2006 as Eclipse Winery and after a few name changes, Whitebarrel stuck. More than a dozen different wines come from what is grown on this 17 acres of land with it being Virginia Vineyard Month we received a tour of what you can experience from general manager Bailey O'Hara.
"Their seeing not just the delicious wine that we make but the experience that we want create for them and really let them break away from the real world and just relax for a little bit," said O'Hara.
Whitebarrel has won awards throughout the years but their recent hardware is one they're particularly proud of.
"We just won the Virginia Governers Cup gold medal for our fig wine. Delicious desert wine all figs no grapes at all and we add some honey as well so it's a completely unique taste. To have other people validate it and just let us know especially with this being one of the top 99 wines in Virginia that is just something so special."
Whitebarrel also offers a variety of yard games to help you shift into relaxation mode such as corn hole, horse shoes, and lots of board games for those who want to wine and dine indoors.
Inside the tasting room is a full service kitchen and this is wine and design from Christiansburg. They take over the tasting room once a month to hold a painting class.
