In Danville, there were 11 candidates running for five city council seats.

The four incumbents kept their seats: Lee Vogler, Larry Campbell, Fred Shanks and Mayor Sherman Saunders.

The fifth seat will now be occupied by Madison Whittle.

Whittle says the citizens spoke Tuesday and he can't wait to start working along the incumbents.

"We've worked steadily, we've had a great crew, great staff. As many doors as we could hit, we've hit them. I think it was as close to the amount of votes that we got, were close to the amount of doors that we knocked on," Madison Whittle said.

Whittle says his focus is small business.

He plans on bringing his experience to council to help small businesses succeed and create jobs.
