HENRY COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ7) -- A woman has been hospitalized and a juvenile male has been arrested following an alleged malicious wounding incident on Monday.
According to a news release from the Henry County Sheriff's office, authorities were contacted at 11:54 a.m., and told that a woman had been stabbed at 10 Misty Hill Drive in Bassett.
Upon arrival, deputies identified the victim as Virginia Ann Browning, 45, of that residence. Browning was transported to Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County for treatment of her injuries.
An investigation revealed that a domestic altercation broke out between Browning and a juvenile male. The altercation culminated in Browning being robbed and receiving multiple lacerations and a stab wound, the release stated.
The male was later arrested and charged with one felony count of malicious wounding and one felony count of robbery. He is currently being held in the W.W. Moore Detention Center in Danville.
