Wytheville received 14 inches of snow. Many residents spent the day shoveling snow and cutting tree limbs.

"I didn't think we'd get all this," said Dixie Smith. Several trees were damaged due to the heavy snow. AEP drove through neighborhoods tending to down power lines.

The sun melted much of the snow quickly, so some people worry about potential flooding. "Those people living near creeks might get flooded," said John Doyle.

The weight of the snow split a tree in Blacksburg and that disrupted water pipes in an apartment complex. "I never thought it would snap in half," said Christina Londono.

While the banners in Wytheville still say 'winter wonderland', people say they are ready for the snow to melt away. "I think this is ti, I'm ready for spring," said Smith.
