SALEM, VA (WDBJ7)-- The "After Prom Grand Finale Event" of Southwest Virginia is up for a $25K grant award as a State Farm Neighborhood Assist Top 200 finalist.
Sponsored by the Youth of Virginia Speak Out About Traffic Safety (YOVASO) Advisory Board, the "After Prom Grand Finale Event" is aimed at keeping students safe in the Southwest Virginia area by inviting them to stay through the end of an after-prom party after their school's main event.
According to the YOVASO advisory board, students from 40 different Southwest Virginia high schools participated in this year's event, which also included the chance to win a brand new car from First Team.
