(CNN) - A cat is down one life after it got stuck in a washing machine or a full 35-minute wash cycle.

The owner, Stefani Carroll-Kirchoff, told CNN she makes sure none of her three cats are in the washer and dry when she's doing laundry.

But last week, she forgot -- one of her cats, Felix had somehow found his way inside the washer. After finding him in the washing machine, soaking wet and barely breathing, the family immediately rushed Felix to a local emergency vet.

Felix temporarily lost his vision and had pneumonia from all the water in his lungs.

Felix is doing better at this time, he can see again and has started eat, but remains on oxygen.

The vets are expecting a full recovery.

Carroll-Kirchoff started a GoFundMe campaign to cover medical costs. As of Monday morning, the campaign has raised $10,435 out of its $10,000 goal.
