FFE Toyota Player of the Week: Radford's PJ Prioleau

RADFORD, Va. (WDBJ7) -- PJ Prioleau is good at football because it's in his blood.

"I've been around football since I was little so," Prioleau said.

But PJ Prioleau is great at football because the game is in his heart.

"Always be great, not good."

Growing up emulating his father and NFL safety Pierson Prioleau, it's no surprise that as a sophomore, the Radford running back is playing well beyond his years.

"Being a sophomore, I'm happy with what I've been able to do. Running the ball when they call my name."

Putting up numbers like these in last week's game against Alleghany:
8 carries 205 yards, 2 TDs, a ten yard TD pass, a kickoff return for 42 yards. That's 257 Total yards!

"He does things on the field you can't coach. If we need to make a play, we can get him the ball and he's gonna make it," said head coach Matthew Saunders.

Natural talent, yes, but also thanks to one of the best lessons his father taught him.

"Yeah he always has those talks about work ethic."

That's not the only advice PJ follows on the field. If nobody has ever related a yellow sea creature to football, let PJ be the first.

"Just over thinking stuff. Spongebob doesn't think. You just react on the field."
