Alleghany at Cave Spring

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ7) -- Alleghany and Cave Spring were both still trying to crack the win column tonight at Bogle Stadium. The Mountaineers hasn't beaten the Knights since 2016.

The student section was decked out in red, white, and blue for tonight's game.

Alleghany down 14-6 in the 3rd when Travis Fridley takes the hand off, fumbles the ball at the goal line but is able to reach out and grab it back for the TD.

Alleghany then goes for 2 and the Mountaineers pull out a nice play from the bag-of-tricks as Alexander Taylor catches the pass in the back of the endzone and the game is tied at 14-14.

Alleghany would keep attacking with the run game as Brian Broughman keeps the ball and runs 12 yards for the TD, extra point no good, so the score is 20-14.

Early in the 4th Cave takes the game over, Lucas Duncan runs left crossing midfield, with a big gain to move the sticks.

Then Duncan throws a perfect strike to Daniel Reeves in stride and goes 39 yards for the TD, Knights back on top 21-20.

Looking to put the game away late, under 3 minutes remaining it's Duncan again running left to find pay dirt. The Knights win for the first time this season, 27-20.
