DANVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) -- The George Washington Eagles welcomed Amherst County to Danville's J-T Christopher Stadium where they hoped to win their third straight over the Lancers.
At the half, GW was up 20 to 14.
That wouldn't last long though, as Wesly Graves makes a move, and takes it 65 yards up the middle for an Eagle touchdown.
On the next drive, Xzavier Ellis, breaks an Eagle tackle and answers right back with a long touchdown run of his own, making the score 26 to 21 Eagles.
GW would try to answer with a pass from Shakobe Hairston to Shyeim Watlington, but he fumbles going into the endzone giving the ball back to the Lancers.
However, GW's defense would fire back as Rahmel Goode steps in with an interception.
From there, the Eagles would let Wesly Graves run free and guide them to the win, as the George Washington Eagles top Amherst, 55 to 28.
