BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ7) -- Jefferson Forest exploded last week against LCA, scoring touchdowns on all 11 possessions in a blowout win. Friday night the Cavaliers welcomed Amherst to Sabre Stadium.
The JF faithful raring to go tonight in this one.
Their team was down big but mounts a rally. The pitch to Marvin Blake. Blake rumbles around the edge and picks up a much needed first down to keep a Cavalier drive alive.
That led to this. Quarterback Nathan Pribble puts his head down and scoots in on the sneak to get JF within 27 to 21 in the third quarter.
But here come the Lancers. Frank Ross gets the call on the jet sweep and he's got some blocking help. Ross finds the hole and he cuts back across the field and they can't get him until he gets all the way down inside the five.
Samari Brogden gets the hand-off and extends the Amherst lead and the Lancers were smelling the upset at that point.
Even more so after this. CJ Rose breaks off another big play for the visitors who led 43-28 but JF came roaring back to win a shootout 66 to 43, scoring the last 38 points.
